PELUM Association Regional Secretariat is a part of the larger Participatory Ecological Land Use Management (PELUM) Association, a regional network of over 280 civil society organizations in 12 countries across East and Southern Africa. Established in 1995, PELUM Association works tirelessly to improve the livelihoods of small-scale farmers and the sustainability of farming communities by promoting ecological land use management. With fully established country chapters in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Botswana, South Africa, Swaziland, and Ethiopia, PELUM Association collaborates with NGOs, faith-based organizations, civil society organizations, and community-based organizations to encourage sustainable use and management of natural resources through agroecology and other ecologically oriented farming systems.

The association undertakes capacity building, research, networking, and advocacy at regional, continental, and global levels, creating an enabling environment for the ecological socio and economic transformation of smallholder farming communities in East and Southern Africa.
