About Jane Austen
Pemberley, originally known as the P&P2BB, is a cherished online community for enthusiasts of the 1995 adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. Founded by Amy Bellinger in July 1996, it emerged from the AUSTEN-L email discussion list. Over time, Pemberley evolved with the dedicated support of Myretta and a devoted volunteer committee, culminating in its current state as The Republic of Pemberley.
The community found its permanent home in Boston in March 1997 when it secured its own domain name. Under the guidance of Myretta, Pemberley now offers a variety of services and resources, including a Facebook Discussion Group, where discussions continue to thrive in a new setting. In addition, Pemberley houses an extensive collection of supporting pages and associated sites, meticulously managed by a volunteer committee.
With periodic updates to the website's design, Pemberley consistently maintains a fresh and engaging user experience. Join the vibrant Pemberley community and immerse yourself in the world of Jane Austen, connecting with fellow admirers and exploring a wealth of knowledge and resources
