About PEMSEA
Partnerships in Environmental Management for the Seas of East Asia (PEMSEA) is an organization dedicated to fostering and sustaining healthy and resilient coasts and oceans, communities, and economies across the Seas of East Asia through integrated management solutions and partnerships. With over two decades of experience, PEMSEA has been providing effective management solutions for coasts and oceans in the region. As the regional coordinating mechanism for the Sustainable Development Strategy for the Seas of East Asia (SDS-SEA), PEMSEA collaborates with national and local governments, companies, research institutions, communities, and international agencies to implement the SDS-SEA.
Crucial networks such as learning centers also contribute their expertise to achieve the shared goals. PEMSEA's primary approach is integrated coastal management (ICM), which ensures the generation and sustenance of healthy oceans, people, and economies. With a proactive approach in building effective partnerships, PEMSEA aims to expand the capacities of countries and stakeholders through innovative policies, tools, and services for integrated coastal and ocean management.
