Penguin Surf Life Saving Club is a volunteer-run community organisation based at Preservation Bay in north-west Tasmania. Founded in 1931 on Main Beach in Penguin, the club moved to Preservation Bay in 1979, with its clubhouse, bar and function room completed in 1987. Recognised as National Surf Club of the Year in 2020, it provides volunteer patrols at Preservation Bay on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from December to March.
The club offers a range of ways for people of different ages and abilities to take part in surf lifesaving and community life. Its programs and activities include Nippers, Starfish Nippers, Silver Salties, surf sports sessions and Surf Life Saving Australia courses. The club also supports community initiatives, including Man Up Tasmania, and provides multiple clubhouse spaces for hire, including a venue for functions.
