The Peninsula College Fund (PCF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping low-income, first-generation college students graduate and pursue jobs aligned with their career goals. Its comprehensive support combines financial assistance with guidance and practical career preparation, helping scholars navigate college and plan for life after graduation.
Each scholar receives a renewable scholarship for up to four years to help address financial aid gaps and reduce student debt. PCF also matches scholars with trained, college-educated mentors who provide advice, encouragement, and support throughout college and often beyond. Intensive workshops help students manage academic and campus life while developing skills for employment. To build career experience, PCF works with employers to develop summer internships, shares information about available opportunities, and offers stipends for meaningful unpaid internships.
The organization also engages volunteers, partners, and donors through mentoring, training, scholarship funding, and other opportunities to support students. PCF reports an 84% six-year graduation rate among scholars who began college in 2019, compared with 21% nationally for first-generation students.
