About University of Pennsylvania Law Review
The University of Pennsylvania Law Review, founded in 1852 as the American Law Register, proudly holds the distinction of being the oldest law review in the United States. With its upcoming 170th Volume in the 2020-2021 academic year, the Law Review is committed to its professional and educational mission. As a foremost publication, it acts as a platform for the finest original legal research, catering to the legal profession, the bench, the bar, and the academic community.
Annually, the Law Review carefully evaluates around 2,000 written submissions, selecting approximately eighteen impactful articles for each volume. Collaborating with prestigious peer organizations such as Columbia, Harvard, and Yale, the Law Review ensures the consistent citation of authority in legal scholarship and court documents through The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation. Moreover, the Law Review empowers its Associate Editors by providing comprehensive training in editorial and administrative tasks associated with publishing a professional legal journal.
In addition, Associate Editors are given the opportunity to prepare their own scholarly works for publication, with up to twelve student comments selected to be featured. With a commitment to excellence, the Law Review's Volume 170 will consist of seven issues, solidifying its enduring legacy in the legal community
