Penny Smiles Foundation, established in 2017 in Ahwiren, Ghana, aims to make a positive impact on the community. The foundation was founded by Ernest Ayensu, who, after assisting a critically ill woman in obtaining a national health insurance card, was inspired to extend this service to the entire village. With a mission to reduce poverty, PSF collects and distributes funds to support skill-acquisition programs, provide essentials like food, water, clothing, and promote education and healthcare.

Their short-term plan includes supporting orphanages with healthcare, conducting water and educational studies in rural areas, and addressing hunger in Africa. PSF envisions an international network focused on empowering communities affected by poverty or natural disasters, achieved through partnerships with like-minded organizations.
