People USA is a peer-run mental health nonprofit dedicated to changing the conversation from illness to wellness. For more than 35 years, the organization has created, provided, and promoted innovative crisis response and wellness services, guided by the belief that hope, recovery, and resilience are possible. Its programs support people in communities across New York, including Columbia, Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Ulster, Warren, Washington, and Westchester counties.
Services include care coordination, community-based peer support, Community Oriented Recovery and Empowerment (CORE) services, crisis stabilization centers, employment and benefits counseling, mobile teams, supportive housing, and transition-of-care support. People USA also operates Rose Houses and offers a 24/7 Warmline for people who need someone to listen. Its Ulster Crisis Support Center provides round-the-clock mental health support in Kingston.
Alongside direct services, People USA offers consulting and shares thought leadership on mental health innovation. The organization also hosts wellness workshops and community events, and provides opportunities to learn about its work through news and updates.
