People For Animals (PFA) is India's largest non-governmental organization dedicated to animal welfare, with a robust network of 26 hospitals, 165 units, and 60 mobile units across the country. Focused on rescuing and rehabilitating sick and needy animals, PFA operates shelters, ambulance services, and sterilization programs in addition to conducting treatment camps and disaster rescue missions. The organization also plays a vital role in advocating for animal rights, working to influence policy change, and ensuring the implementation of animal-friendly legislation.
Education is key to PFA's mission; they conduct programs in schools, training sessions for law enforcement and judiciary, and utilize social media to raise awareness of animal welfare issues. PFA aims to establish an animal welfare center in each of India's 600 districts, encouraging community involvement through adoption and sponsorship programs. By highlighting the interconnectedness of animal welfare with societal health, human well-being, and environmental sustainability, PFA strives to create a more compassionate society for all
