About PeoplePlaceProject
People Called Ladakh is a captivating project that aims to explore the cultural heritage of Ladakh through personal narratives. It delves into the multifaceted aspects of Ladakh's place and people, economics and culture, amenities and infrastructure. This narrative mapping exercise seeks to uncover the intricate maze of interconnected systems and sub-systems that make up the essence of Ladakh.
The project invites individuals to contribute non-fiction stories based on interviews and primary research. These stories will highlight the experiences and perspectives of Ladakhi people, offering a unique and vivid portrayal of Ladakhi culture. With a word limit of 1500-2000 words, contributors have the freedom to express their narratives in a democratic and pluralistic manner.
Led by the curators, Nisha Nair-Gupta and Shashi Velath, the People Called Ladakh project is a remarkable opportunity to shed light on the rich heritage of Ladakh and foster a deeper understanding of its people. This initiative is supported by esteemed publishing partners such as Penguin Random House and patrons like Birla Sanskriti Trust, who contribute to the sustainability of the research and mission.
If you are passionate about showcasing the vibrant culture of Ladakh and have stories to share, join the People Called Ladakh project and become a part of this compelling narrative exploration.
