An expanded search form lets users add filters including gender, relationship status, workplace, university, school, and military unit. The service is intended for finding former classmates, colleagues, fellow students, military acquaintances, relatives, and people with the same surname. Seekpeople.

ru states that it searches publicly available online sources, including social networks, blogs, and forums, and serves users looking for people in Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and other countries. No registration is required, and the search can be attempted with a single parameter. Results may include contact details when individuals have made them public.

The site notes that information comes from open sources and may not be accurate; users should therefore verify results independently before relying on them
