Perce Neige Pyrénées is a nonprofit association founded in Ogeu-les-Bains, in France’s Pyrénées-Atlantiques, on 3 May 1985. Its mission is to welcome and support people with disabilities, helping them feel at home, develop their abilities and autonomy, and take part in community life. The association also seeks to support families by providing care and guidance for both immediate needs and the future.
Its Maison Perce-Neige Odette Ventura opened in 1988. By 2022, the residential facility welcomed 33 people in full-time accommodation and three in day placements. Donations and bequests help fund buildings, activity spaces and equipment, including a rehabilitation pool. Staff support residents in everyday tasks and activities tailored to their abilities and ages.
The programme includes workshops such as weaving, sewing, embroidery, basketry, woodworking, gardening and cooking, alongside afternoon activities including sport, swimming, walking, singing, painting and baking. Adapted sports, holidays, local clubs and relationships with village businesses and associations encourage social inclusion.
