The Percheron Horse Breeders’ Society of South Africa is an organisation dedicated to preserving and promoting the Percheron, a respected draught horse breed, in South Africa. Established in 1939, the Society supports breeders, owners and enthusiasts while encouraging the breed’s heritage, purity and distinctive qualities. Its work includes promoting responsible breeding, upholding the breed standard and providing educational information about Percheron history, characteristics and versatility.
The Society’s website helps visitors connect with the breed and its community. People can find breeders and stud farms, explore information about the breed, and view upcoming shows and events, results and galleries. Classifieds provide a place to buy and sell Percherons, while membership information, documents and blogs offer further resources for members and those interested in the breed. The Society welcomes established breeders, prospective owners and admirers, and presents the Percheron as a strong, intelligent and gentle horse suited to settings ranging from farm work to the show ring.
