Perhekoti Kuutti

Perhekoti Kuutti is a five-place professional family home established in November 2005 in the Karhumäki area of Imatra, Finland. It provides a welcoming residential setting for children and young people, with each resident having a private, comfortable bedroom that can be furnished to their own preferences. The home operates in a two-storey detached house with shared living spaces and a garden-like yard. Its location offers convenient access to schools, shops, swimming areas and leisure activities, supporting residents’ everyday routines and independent travel.

Animal-centred activity is one of the home’s values and approaches. The household includes two cats, a Shetland Sheepdog and a Finnish horse, who are described as companions and “animal therapists.” The family home is run by Sirpa Huuskonen, a qualified social worker with a Master’s degree in social services and professional teacher training. She has also completed studies as an animal-assisted neuropsychiatric coach.
