perhekoti Leppälä

Ammatillinen perhekoti Leppälä is a professional foster home in Seinäjoki, South Ostrobothnia, Finland. Set in the countryside, it offers children a peaceful, nature-connected home while remaining about a 20-minute drive from city services. The home provides places for up to seven children, each with a private room, and welcomes children aged 4 to 17.

Leppälä’s work focuses on supporting children’s wellbeing, growth and development, helping them understand and value themselves, and discover strengths they can draw on throughout life. Its approach combines individualized professional support with animal-assisted activities, nature-based care, trauma-informed and solution-focused practice, participation, responsibility and supportive daily routines. The home also works with children’s families and wider networks, seeking to maintain important relationships with parents, relatives and other close people during placements.

Its guiding values include fairness, compassion, safety, honesty and inclusion, as well as children’s rights to be heard, accepted and loved, to be children, and to experience and learn about their feelings.
