Permakultur im Dreisamtal is a regional initiative promoting permaculture and more sustainable ways of living and shaping society. Its work combines practical learning, community participation and the exchange of ideas about nature-friendly land use. At the Häuslemaierhof, visitors can join Werkel-Tage, hands-on workdays that introduce participants to the project’s grounds and bring together people interested in permaculture.

The initiative also offers guided site visits and courses for individuals and groups, including schools, businesses and student groups. Past course topics have included permaculture design, regenerative gardening, soil building, natural beekeeping, mushroom cultivation, scything, and permaculture with yoga. Its educational content also explores practices such as companion planting and agroforestry, including forest gardens, and explains how diverse plant communities can support productive, resilient growing systems.

Permakultur im Dreisamtal has also expressed support for the FriedensKulturHof Freiburg project and shared information about fundraising for permaculture-based future-building. Through events, learning opportunities and shared resources, the initiative encourages people to develop practical skills and contribute to more caring, life-friendly communities
