Perspectives in Ecology and Conservation (PECON) is an open-access scientific journal focused on advancing the theoretical and conceptual foundations of conservation science. The official journal of the Brazilian Association for Ecological Science and Conservation, it shares research with scientists, conservation practitioners, policymakers, and other audiences. Supported by the Boticário Group Foundation for Nature Protection, the journal does not charge authors to publish.

PECON publishes original research, essays, perspectives, policy forums, and research letters on biodiversity conservation and restoration, the pressures affecting native ecosystems, and the benefits of nature to people. Topics include biodiversity patterns, habitat loss and fragmentation, biological invasions, climate change, conservation genetics and planning, ecosystem management, ecosystem services, sustainability, socio-ecological resilience, and conservation policy. Recent articles examine issues such as roads and tropical forest communities, fire in slash-and-burn agriculture, hydropower impacts on migratory fish, protected-area planning, and conflicts between wildlife recovery and local livelihoods. Formerly published as Natureza & Conservação from 2003 to 2016, the journal is indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals and Science Citation Index Expanded. It also provides author guidance, language-editing services, and newsletter updates.
