About Cooperativa Pescatori Tortolì | Tortolì
Cooperativa Pescatori Tortolì is a Sardinian fishing cooperative founded in 1944 by local fishermen and fishers from the island of Ponza. Based at the productive wetlands of the Tortolì Lagoon in eastern Sardinia’s Ogliastra region, it combines traditional, seasonal fishing with aquaculture and careful processing. Its wild grey mullet roe is made by hand into bottarga, the cooperative’s signature product, also available grated and in several formats.
Its range includes fresh lagoon fish, farmed sea bass and gilt-head bream, mussels, and oysters, including the Sandalia and Fabrizie varieties. The cooperative sells products online and through La Pescheria di Via Tirso, its fresh-fish shop, and serves lagoon produce at the Chiosco di Ponente oyster bar. Visitors can join guided group tours, take part in tourist or sport fishing, or observe traditional fishing methods.
Its environmental education centre offers outdoor learning activities for children and young people. Awards for its bottarga and oysters recognize the quality of its products and artisanal approach
