Peter Zimmermann

Peter Zimmermann is an author, writing instructor and former secondary-school teacher who offers creative-writing workshops for upper-secondary students in Switzerland. Drawing on twenty years of teaching experience and his own writing practice, he guides young people from an initial idea to a finished short story. Participants develop a subject, create characters, shape a plot and refine their language, receiving individual feedback and practical suggestions for revision.

Workshops can take place over several weeks during German lessons or in a focused format spanning two to five days during a project week. Zimmermann also offers sessions by arrangement, including individual lessons, writing days for teaching teams and author readings. Students leave with an original text, useful writing techniques and an understanding of writing as a skill that can be learned.

His published work includes two novels and a collection of stories from edition bücherlese, and his short stories have received several awards. He has led regular workshops at secondary schools since 2023.
