Peter's Baan

Stichting Natuurijs Peter’s Baan Soest is a volunteer-run foundation that operates an outdoor natural ice-skating rink in Soest, the Netherlands. Founded in 1951, Peter’s Baan has become a longstanding local tradition and a place for people to meet, exercise and enjoy skating together. Each winter, volunteers prepare the rink so it can open when weather conditions allow; opening hours therefore depend on the weather and are announced through the foundation’s website and social media.

The foundation aims to keep skating accessible to everyone by keeping costs low. It operates independently and receives no subsidy, relying on the commitment of volunteers, support from members and visitors, and contributions from sponsors. Visitors can purchase a season pass for unlimited skating during the 2026 season at a fixed price. The website also provides practical information, including admission prices, opening times, photographs, directions and contact details. Located at Eemweg 2b in Soest, Peter’s Baan continues to bring the community together around outdoor skating and its shared winter tradition.
