Petites Soeurs des Pauvres

Petites Sœurs des Pauvres is an international religious congregation within the Catholic Church, founded in Brittany in 1839 by Saint Jeanne Jugan. Its mission is to welcome and accompany older people living in poverty through the natural end of their lives, offering care and human connection in its homes, known as “Ma Maison.” The congregation is open to people of all backgrounds and brings together its sisters, residents, employees, volunteers, and supporters around the wellbeing of older people.

Across more than 30 homes, the organization recruits people for roles in personal care, medical and paramedical teams, management and support, and hospitality and accommodation. It also welcomes those interested in becoming a sister, volunteering, or supporting its work through donations. The congregation shares news and events from its homes, including community activities and charity sales, which help sustain its mission. Through its services and community engagement, Petites Sœurs des Pauvres focuses on providing older people with attentive support, dignity, and a sense of companionship.
