PET-Recycling Schweiz

PET-Recycling Schweiz is a Swiss non-profit organisation established in 1990 to organise the collection and recycling of PET beverage bottles. Working with members, retailers, partners and volunteer collection points, it has developed a nationwide network that makes recycling accessible in public spaces, workplaces and leisure settings. The organisation coordinates the PET recycling cycle, from collection and transport to sorting, material recovery and the production of recycled PET for new beverage bottles.

PET-Recycling Schweiz supports municipalities, businesses, schools, event organisers and individuals with information and practical resources. Its website helps people find collection points and offers collection containers for purchase, including options for events. Educational materials, news, a newsletter and the PETflash digital magazine explain recycling, environmental impacts and the PET cycle.

The organisation promotes correct disposal to conserve energy, reduce emissions and support climate protection and a circular economy. It also works with members and partners to develop recycling processes. PET-Recycling Schweiz reports an 84% recycling rate and more than 72,000 collection points across Switzerland, including over 50,000 volunteer sites.
