Pferde im Sohl

Pferde im Sohl Aktivstall is a horse boarding facility in Sohl, Weingarten, near Karlsruhe, offering a herd-based approach to horse care. Its active-stable concept combines aspects of individual stall keeping and open-stable living, with the aim of supporting horses’ natural needs, health, balance, and readiness for work. Horses live together in a herd and have ongoing access to approximately 3,500 square metres of paved outdoor areas with different surfaces.

The layout separates key areas, including feed stations, water, rolling space, resting areas, and pastures, encouraging horses to move along a circuit throughout the day. Computer-controlled systems provide individually timed access to concentrate and roughage. The horse pension also includes seasonal daily turnout on pasture and use of a riding hall.

The facility’s website provides information about its care concept, grounds, and boarding services, and welcomes prospective visitors by appointment. Pferde im Sohl presents its approach as a way for horses to follow a more self-directed daily routine while owners can have confidence in their care
