Pferdehof Kohlschmidt is a family-run horse farm in Bergholz-Rehbrücke, Nuthetal, near Potsdam. Founded in 1989 by Bernd Kohlschmidt, the farm has evolved from a focus on horse breeding and carriage sport into a facility primarily offering horse boarding. Madeleine Kohlschmidt has managed the family farm since 2018, continuing its development with an emphasis on modern horse care.
The farm provides open-stable and box accommodation, with plenty of movement, fresh air and good-quality feed central to its approach. It currently houses around 75 horses and manages almost 50 hectares of pasture, producing some of its own hay without mineral fertilisers or herbicides. Additional hay comes from long-standing farming partners in the region.
Set among woodland and meadows within a protected landscape area, the farm offers a peaceful rural setting while remaining close to Potsdam and Berlin. Its activities include riding and carriage rides, and families can celebrate children’s birthdays at the farm. A community of recreational riders and horse-centred gatherings contribute to its welcoming, family atmosphere
