PG Mannheim

The Paddel-Gesellschaft Mannheim (PG Mannheim) is a sports club dedicated to paddling and competitive water sports. Founded in 1924, it has grown into a prominent club in Mannheim and, according to its website, one of Germany’s strongest canoe sprint clubs. Its activities include canoeing, dragon boat racing, modern pentathlon and triathlon, with training as well as competitions and events across its departments. The club also emphasizes youth development and community participation, including the integration of members from diverse backgrounds, and invites new members to join.

PG Mannheim has a long sporting history, with notable competition results dating back to the 1930s. It expanded its program to include dragon boat racing before many other clubs in southern Germany; the website reports that its dragon boat team has achieved European champion and world vice-champion status. The club operates facilities for training and equipment, including a boathouse and a boat hall at the Mühlauhafen.
