PGA Bakersfield

The Punjabi Golf Association of Bakersfield is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that brings people together through golf, community connections, and charitable giving. Formalized in 2017 after decades of members playing, networking, and fundraising, the association aims to strengthen ties between Bakersfield’s Punjabi community and Kern County while welcoming participants and supporters.

Its main annual event is a charity golf tournament at Seven Oaks Country Club. The 2027 tournament is scheduled for May 3 and features a two-person scramble, with registration for golfers, guest passes, catered food, entertainment, and raffle activities. Players receive green fees, a cart, range balls, a golf shirt, and a goody bag, with awards for several competition categories.

The association raises funds through golfer entries, sponsorships, prize contributions, and donations. Its 2027 tournament benefits Mothers Against Drunk Driving and the Wounded Heroes Fund of Kern County. The organization reports more than $65,000 donated to local charities in recent years, including $20,000 distributed to those two beneficiaries in 2026.
