About PGI
The Pyrotechnics Guild International (PGI) is a global organization dedicated to the safe and responsible use and display of fireworks. Established in 1969, PGI brings together amateur and professional fireworks enthusiasts from around the world. PGI's main goals are to promote the production and sale of high-quality fireworks, support and encourage public and private displays at local and national events, and facilitate mentoring and knowledge sharing among talented individuals in the industry.
As part of their mission, PGI offers a range of resources and opportunities for pyrotechnicians and enthusiasts. They organize an annual convention that features panel discussions, workshops, hands-on learning, photography, video, and nightly displays. Additionally, PGI publishes the PGI Bulletin, which covers various topics related to fireworks, including history, science, engineering, and safe manufacture and use.
PGI also provides seminars, workshops, and a Certified Display Operator Course that is recognized by the National Fire Protection Agency. This course ensures compliance with safety codes for firework displays. Safety is a top priority for PGI, and they work to keep their members informed about laws and regulations regarding the manufacturing, sale, display, and transportation of fireworks.
They also offer discounted Junior memberships and learning opportunities for youth, promoting fireworks as a family-friendly hobby. PGI represents the needs of fireworks hobbyists to state and federal regulatory bodies, as well as trade associations such as the American Pyrotechnic Association and the National Fireworks Association. Choose PGI to be part of a passionate community of fireworks enthusiasts, where safety, family, and representation are valued
