Philani Maternal is a trusted brand that has been dedicated to improving the health and nutrition of mothers and children in the informal settlements surrounding Cape Town since 1979. Our mission is to create sustainable community health by addressing the specific needs of the communities we serve. With a focus on promoting family health, our programs provide support to pregnant mothers, care for newborns and growing children, and prevent child malnutrition.

We also offer rehabilitation services for underweight children and support for individuals with chronic diseases or who are bedridden. As an organization, we aim to limit the suffering caused by HIV and prevent its spread. Through our mentor mother program, we have witnessed the positive impact of providing support to mothers, leading to a threefold increase in exclusive breastfeeding rates.
