About Phil Gore
Phil Gore is a Western Australian ultra-endurance runner known for his achievements in backyard ultra racing and his commitment to raising funds for Telethon. A working firefighter and father of four, he is the reigning Big Dog’s Backyard Ultra World Champion and a two-time backyard ultra world record holder. His Project 168 challenge brought his endurance running and charitable fundraising together: Gore completed 152 consecutive hourly laps, covering 1,019.
92 kilometres in seven days at Forrestdale, Western Australia. Each lap supported Telethon’s work with sick, vulnerable and disadvantaged children and their families across the state. The Project 168 website shares event details, live and final performance data, replay footage, supporter information and media coverage.
It also offers opportunities to donate to Telethon, enquire about sponsoring Gore’s future endurance challenges, or contact his team about interviews, appearances and footage. Official Project 168 T-shirts and a special-edition bottle were offered as merchandise, but orders have closed now that the event has concluded. The project welcomes aligned brand partnerships for Gore’s future work
