Phoenix Model Aviators

Phoenix Model Aviators Inc is a community club for remote-control model aircraft enthusiasts on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, based in the Maroochydore area. Affiliated with the Model Aeronautical Association of Queensland and Australia, the club welcomes local residents and visitors, along with pilots, family and friends, to visit its airfield and take part in flying activities.

The club helps newcomers learn to operate model aircraft through instruction from its experienced members. After lessons, learners can work toward a Park Flyers Certificate, which permits solo flying at the airfield. With further practice, pilots may also sit for assessments for bronze, silver and gold wings. The club encourages people of all ages to give model flying a try.

Flying generally takes place from 8:30 a.m. on most Wednesday and Sunday mornings when the airfield is open. Members with a gate key can access the field at other times. Phoenix Model Aviators also shares club news, photographs, flying tips, a calendar and airfield safety information.
