PhotoMark was a German-developed WordPress plugin designed to help professional photographers manage client photo selection on their own websites. Founded by Florian Kleiner of Weimar and Frowin Ellermann of Kiel, the brand focused on making image proofing convenient for photographers and their customers while reducing administrative work after shoots and events.
With PhotoMark, photographers could create password-protected galleries where clients could browse images, select favorites, leave comments or editing requests, and download files. The workflow also supported image resizing and optional watermarking, and photographers received clients’ selections in a list that could help organize images for post-production. Customers could access galleries from different devices and submit their choices online.
A central feature of the service was that galleries and customer images remained on the photographer’s own WordPress website and server, rather than being passed to third parties. PhotoMark also emphasized direct, personal support from its founders and provided resources such as a wiki and FAQ.
