PHTC Online

PHTC Online is the University at Albany Center for Public Health Continuing Education’s platform for self-paced online public health training. It provides courses designed to build knowledge and skills for public health professionals, including a free Public Health Foundations Certificate program covering core concepts and practices aligned with professional competencies. The platform also offers Orientation to Public Health, an introductory course on the public health mission, core functions, and the 10 Essential Public Health Services.

Specialized training supports New York health and care professionals in completing assessment instruments. SCREEN Training prepares participants to assess individuals for possible mental illness, intellectual disability, or developmental disability using the New York State Department of Health’s SCREEN form. Completing the course earns discharge professionals a certification card and number. The Hospital and Community Patient Review Instrument (H/C PRI) training is intended for registered nurses in New York who assess a person’s condition and care needs. Successful participants are certified to use the instrument and receive an Assessor Identification number.
