Phuket Elephant Nature Reserve (PENR) is an accredited, award-winning elephant sanctuary founded in 2019 on Phuket’s west coast in Thailand. Set across 30 rai of lush land, it focuses on the welfare of rescued elephants, visitor education, and sustainable care. The reserve is home to five elephants rescued from riding and circus shows. Visitors can observe and feed them in a hands-off environment, without riding, bathing, chains, or bullhooks, while learning about their lives and care.

PENR offers a Half-Day Elephant Adventure, a 90-minute visit, and private half-day experiences, as well as private hiking tours. Activities may include meeting the elephants, guided observation, a nature hike, and learning about elephant nutrition and veterinary care. Guests can also explore the reserve’s dung-recycling program, gardens, and sustainability practices, including solar power and recycling. Facilities include a restaurant, bathrooms, lockers, and an observation deck. The organisation also offers MICE and corporate team-building events and weddings. Its approach aims to provide meaningful wildlife experiences while allowing elephants space to behave naturally.
