Picnic Café is a friendly, centrally located vegan café in Glasgow’s Merchant City, established in 2016 by Michelle Morrow. It offers a welcoming, relaxed setting for breakfast, lunch, snacks, coffee, or cake, with a focus on fresh, whole, organic ingredients and cruelty-free cooking. Every food and drink item is plant-based, with no meat, fish, dairy, or eggs. The menu includes salads, soups, wraps, bagels, sandwiches, curry, baked potatoes, homemade cakes and scones, waffles, and weekend cooked breakfasts. Dinner dishes and desserts are also available during evening service.
Picnic serves freshly ground coffee, tea, juices, and smoothies, alongside ready-to-go drinks. Its evening drinks selection includes vegan wines and Scottish craft beers. The café prepares much of its food on-site and sources ingredients locally and sustainably where possible. It also uses recycled or biodegradable packaging. Visitors can book tables, and monetary gift vouchers are available. Picnic is fully licensed, accessible, and welcomes well-behaved dogs. It is located at 103 Ingram Street and opens daily.
