Pieksämäen Tae Kwon Do ry is a martial arts club in Pieksämäki, Finland, where Taekwondo has been practised since 1986. Registered in 1987, the club has a long-standing presence in the local community and welcomes people to train in a supportive, good-humoured atmosphere. Its activities take place weekly at the club’s own training hall on Myllykatu 1.
The club offers Taekwondo, fitness combat training and meditation. Taekwondo practice develops martial arts and self-defence skills through traditional techniques, including kicks, and their application in sparring and practical situations. Members can pursue personal goals, from health and fitness to competition or advancing through the belt ranks from white to black.
Fitness combat training combines martial arts hand and foot techniques with exercise. Sessions are non-contact, with participants working alone or with a partner using pads, kick shields and bags. Suitable for different fitness levels and beginners, it supports coordination, flexibility, speed and strength. The meditation group meets on Sundays and is open to adults over 18.
