Pienryhmäkoti Edit

Pienryhmäkoti Edit is a private child welfare residential care provider based in Somero, in Finland’s Southwest region. Operating since 1998, the seven-place home supports children aged 4–18 who need stability, attentive adult care and a safe environment. It serves children placed in care through both child protection orders and open-care support, including placements from Southwest Finland, Satakunta, Häme and Uusimaa.

Set in a peaceful rural setting, Edit offers a homelike daily life that includes school, hobbies, shared activities and time outdoors. Each child has a private room, an individual care and upbringing plan, and a designated support worker who provides continuity. The multidisciplinary team includes social services, nursing and practical nursing professionals, with experience in child welfare, DDP-informed work and support for everyday and mental health challenges.

Edit also provides aftercare services for municipalities, planned with each young person and their social worker. A supported independent-living apartment in central Somero can help young people move toward greater independence. The approach emphasizes patient, consistent support and each child’s individual needs.
