Pilantho

Pilantho is an equestrian center and horse boarding facility located at Margaretenhof in Oberzissen, Germany. Its services include a specialist stable for horses with allergies and other health conditions, with capacity for up to eight horses at a time. Care is tailored to each horse and coordinated with its owner, veterinarian or clinic, whether the stay is for treatment or longer-term support.

The facility focuses particularly on respiratory and skin problems, including coughing, asthma, allergies and eczema, as well as conditions such as laminitis and dental issues. Its care provisions include low-dust bedding, individually managed feeding, steamed hay and, when needed, hay cobs. Pilantho says it produces its own straw pellets, hay and hay cobs, and offers options for supplementary feed and exercise arrangements.

A central feature of the allergy treatment area is a salt room with salt-covered walls, light therapy and calming music. Salt treatments are individually planned in consultation with the horse’s veterinarian.
