Pillars of Hope, also known as Izinsika Zethemba, is a South African nonprofit founded in 2016 to support people and communities facing hardship. Inspired by Christian values and the Baobab tree as a symbol of life and hope, the organisation aims to create change and help people build positive, sustainable futures. Its work is organised around four pillars: child and adult welfare, education and skills development, holistic substance abuse rehabilitation, and prayer and counselling.
The organisation contributes groceries to Bredell Primaryโs daily feeding scheme and provides food and hygiene supplies to the Benoni Inner-city Ministry team. It also supports beneficiaries in Pondoland and assists students at several schools and universities through education-related support. For rehabilitation services, Pillars of Hope partners with Comeback Mission in Eldorado Park and Rays of Hope in Alex. Its partnership with Life Link includes support for the centreโs monthly expenses and volunteer involvement. Pillars of Hope welcomes donations and partnerships to help sustain its community projects, and can issue Section 18A certificates for eligible contributions.
