Pilviboksi is a Finnish cloud storage service offering a privacy-focused alternative to mainstream platforms such as Google Drive and Dropbox. Built on the open-source Nextcloud platform, it provides managed online storage so customers can use the service without maintaining their own server. Accounts support file storage, calendars and contacts, accessible through a web browser or Nextcloud apps for Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iOS.

Users can also enable automatic uploads, such as backing up phone photos. Pilviboksi says customer data is not used for advertising, data collection or AI training, and that it retains only information essential to providing the service. Its servers are located in Hetzner data centres in Finland.

The service also offers Immich, an open-source photo library and Google Photos alternative, with mobile apps, automatic photo backups, albums and sharing links. Immich accounts include a small Nextcloud account, and customers may ask about linking Immich to Nextcloud storage. Pilviboksi emphasizes straightforward pricing, privacy and managed open-source tools
