Pine Mountain Music Festival (PMMF) brings classical music to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, building community through performances, education, and local engagement. Its festival takes place in June across Houghton, Marquette, Iron, and other U. P.
communities, with concerts hosted in churches, schools, libraries, and theaters. The 2026 season, scheduled for June 13–27, features vocal, chamber, and young-artist performances. Audiences can hear soprano Julie Tabash Kelsheimer and tenor Drake Dantzler in selections from light opera and musical theatre, and enjoy the Bergonzi Trio’s chamber music, children’s concerts, and masterclass.
The UPstarts! program showcases emerging singers and instrumentalists from the region, selected by audition and given opportunities to perform professionally and tour local communities. PMMF offers event tickets, livestreams, and digital programs, alongside opportunities to donate, subscribe, volunteer, advertise, or join its board. Through accessible performances and educational activities, the festival aims to nurture the Upper Peninsula’s artistic vitality and creative spirit while connecting audiences with classical music and regional talent
