About Pint of Science Austria
Pint of Science Austria is a non-profit organization run by researchers and science enthusiasts in Austria. The heart of their mission is to bring scientists out of their labs and into the local community, shining a spotlight on their work in a cozy setting next door. In these settings, scientists can explain their work, present their latest findings, and discuss the societal dimensions of their research with anyone interested.
The beauty of Pint of Science is that no prior scientific knowledge is required; the talks are designed to be accessible to the general public, providing everyone with the opportunity to engage with researchers. The aim is to create a platform for dialogue and make science more approachable. This annual festival takes place over three evenings in May, not only in Austria but all over the world.
Pint of Science started in 2012 as Meet the Scientist and has since grown to encompass numerous countries and cities. In 2021, the festival arrives in Vienna for the first time.
