About Piratebox
**PirateBox**
PirateBox is an innovative DIY anonymous offline file-sharing and communications system that combines free software with affordable, readily available hardware. Aimed at fostering privacy and community collaboration, PirateBox empowers users to build their own secure networks where they can exchange files and messages without the need for an internet connection. The project has released several iterations, including version 1.1.4, which introduced various improvements and support for Raspberry Pi models.
While the official website and downloads will continue to operate through 2020, it is set to close at the end of that year. The brand also encourages community involvement through forums, events like PirateBox Camp, and resources available on their GitHub directory. Recognized as a top pick by InfoWorld for its contributions to open-source network tools, PirateBox remains committed to its goals of enhancing personal privacy and encouraging creative and constructive communication.
