Pirkkalan kalatalousalue

Pirkkalan Fisheries Region is a Finnish fisheries management organization responsible for Pyhäjärvi and surrounding smaller waters, rapids and flowing-water areas across Tampere, Nokia, Pirkkala, Lempäälä, Vesilahti, Valkeakoski, Akaa and Kangasala. Its waters are known for excellent zander fishing and also support fishing for a variety of other species. The organization works to promote diverse, sustainable fishing and the evidence-based use and management of fish and crayfish resources.

Its responsibilities include preparing management plans, arranging monitoring, participating in research and surveys, and representing fisheries interests in water-related permitting matters. It also distributes owner compensation and provides information for water-area owners, local associations, fishing clubs and recreational, household and commercial fishers. Visitors can find information about local waters, fish, fishing and crayfish permits, restricted areas and special rules.

The region sells lure-fishing permits for Pyhäjärvi through the Kalapassi system, while its inspectors check permits and compliance with fishing regulations and local restrictions. The website also shares notices, reports, plans and practical guidance
