PKU

PKU Foreningen for Danmark is a Danish association for people living with phenylketonuria (PKU), their relatives, and others who wish to support its work. The association provides information and practical resources to help members and families navigate life with PKU. Its website covers the condition, dietary management, diagnosis, and everyday situations, with guidance for families, childcare, schools, sport, travel, and hospital stays.

Members and visitors can find PKU-friendly recipes, food-shopping information, and resources on dietary aids, sweeteners, and additional expenses. The association also shares information about clinical trials and offers an e-book for children about having a friend with PKU.

Community and knowledge-sharing are central to its activities. The association organizes events, including cooking activities and an annual general meeting, and provides opportunities for families to connect. It works with European PKU associations on information exchange and research, participates in E.S.PKU, and belongs to Sjældne Diagnoser, a Danish alliance of organizations supporting people affected by rare diseases and disabilities.
