Placentia Half Marathon

Placentia Half Marathon is a running and community event organized by ASD Placentia in Piacenza, Italy. Returning on 9 May 2027 for its 30th edition, the event combines competitive sport, recreation and opportunities to discover the city. Its main race is a FIDAL-recognized half marathon, alongside a relay that lets two runners share the distance. Participants and visitors can also join shorter walks, including the Pedibus through Piacenza’s historic centre and a walk celebrating local volunteer associations.

The programme extends beyond race day. Activities include ScopriPiacenza, a guided way to explore the historic centre, family sports games for children, food stands featuring local products and Salvati Salvatori, which pairs people saved through defibrillator intervention with their rescuers for each kilometre. The event also promotes 100% Progetto Vita, an initiative for companies supporting the project’s work. Placentia Half Marathon provides registration and participation information, course details, FAQs, an event app, tourism and hotel packages, and updates through its website and newsletter. Its history dates back to 1996.
