PLACER EXOTIC BIRD RESCUE

Placer Exotic Bird Rescue is a private parrot rescue and sanctuary established in 2008, serving the local area and surrounding communities. Its mission is to rescue, care for, rehabilitate, and find suitable homes for unwanted, homeless, neglected, or special-needs parrots and other exotic birds. The organization takes in birds from members of the public and animal shelters, including those that are injured, ill, abandoned, or no longer able to remain with their owners. When possible, rescued birds are prepared for adoption by educated, responsible new owners.

The rescue also emphasizes public education about the commitment involved in caring for a bird, including appropriate housing, food, toys, time, and regular veterinary care from an avian specialist. Placer Exotic Bird Rescue does not breed or ship birds, and visits are by appointment. People can learn about featured birds, the adoption process, and ways to get involved through its website. Donations, including usable items in good condition, help support the rescue’s work and the birds in its care.
