PLAN

PLAN is a Multitype Library Cooperative (MLC) that serves a vital role in the Florida Panhandle region, encompassing sixteen counties. Established in 1991 and operating as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, PLAN supports a diverse membership, which includes academic, public, specialized, and school libraries. Governed by a Board of Directors elected from member library directors, PLAN aims to foster collaboration and resource sharing among its members, ensuring they can provide high-quality services to their communities.

PLAN's mission focuses on collaborating with various partners to improve access to information and resources while addressing regional needs related to education, economic development, and quality of life. Its offerings include cooperative purchasing, advocacy initiatives, digitization projects, and various training programs, such as webinars and self-paced courses. This cooperative structure not only enhances the capabilities of individual libraries but also ensures that even smaller libraries have access to a wider range of resources and opportunities, benefiting library patrons across the region.
