Plant and Plates was founded on a simple observation: the world doesn't have a plastic problem, it has a material problem.
Every year, the foodservice industry generates millions of tonnes of single-use tableware that ends up in landfill for centuries. A takeaway container used for 20 minutes outlives the person who used it by hundreds of years. Cutlery meant for a single meal breaks down into microplastics that end up in soil, water, and eventually food chains. For decades, this has been treated as a necessary cost of doing business.
We don't accept that trade-off.
Plant and Plates exists to prove compostable tableware can work as hard as plastic ever did at a scale that matters, at a price that works for real operators, with a range that covers every foodservice use case.
Our materials come from what industries already treat as waste. Sugarcane bagasse is the fibrous pulp left after sugar extraction. Areca palm leaves fall naturally from the tree no cutting, no forest damage. Bamboo blended with PLA delivers the rigidity and heat tolerance needed for cutlery and hot beverage lids. All food-safe, all commercially compostable within 90 days. Our range covers what foodservice actually needs. Plates, bowls, trays, food containers, clamshells, and cutlery — supplying restaurants, hotels, catering companies, QSR chains, event operators, and takeaway brands across the EU, UK, and US. Our belief is simple: switching away from plastic shouldn't ask anyone to choose between doing the right thing and running a profitable operation. We built our range so they don't have to.
Every plate, bowl, and container we produce replaces plastic that would otherwise sit in landfill for centuries. That's Plant and Plates. Compostable. Un compromised. Built to scale.
