Plantes Rares et Jardin Naturel is an association based in Sérignan-du-Comtat, in the Vaucluse region of France. Guided by the motto “From pleasure to knowledge,” its members have worked for 29 years to preserve the memory of Jean-Henri Fabre (1823–1915), the renowned naturalist and writer. The association brings people together around plants, gardens and biodiversity through public events and opportunities to learn and share.
Its activities include the Fête des Plantes et de la Biodiversité, a gathering dedicated to plants and biodiversity, as well as free exchange fairs and film discussions. The wider programme has also featured gardening courses, botanical outings, conferences, exhibitions, ephemeral gardens, markets and arts and crafts. The association welcomes volunteers who can contribute for a few hours, help with event preparation and tidying, or become involved throughout the year. It invites people with a range of practical, creative, administrative and interpersonal skills to join its team. Based at 22, cours Joël Estève, the association provides contact details and a newsletter sign-up through its website.
