People who are Plant Explorers are different from those who are plant hunters, in that our goal is discovery more than acquisition. Plant Explorers today may be botanists or botanical photographers and painters, but also may be anyone with a real love for nature and plants. If you are a Plant Explorer, or just someone who loves plants, then this site is for you. In this site we have biographies of famous, and not so famous, explorers and plant explorers, as well as resources for explorers and adventurers, with information from botanical gardens and plant clubs around the world, and links to sources of equipment such as cameras, camping equipment and even art supplies. We even have seeds and seed distribution programs, for those who wish to grow their own rare plants.

PlantExplorers.com is a website and community for people who value discovering, learning about, photographing, painting, and growing plants. It distinguishes plant exploration from plant hunting: the emphasis is on curiosity and discovery rather than acquisition. Its audience includes botanists, artists, adventurers, gardeners, and anyone with a strong interest in nature.
The site offers biographies and dedicated pages about historical plant explorers, alongside articles on notable plants, botanical discoveries, and gardens. Members can share their work and, as the community grows, contribute accounts of their own adventures. Resource pages connect visitors with botanical gardens, plant clubs, seed sources, and equipment for photography, camping, and art. The site also provides links to rare and unusual seeds and seed distribution programs for people who want to grow plants themselves. PlantExplorers.com presents these materials as an invitation to explore, whether through travel or from a home garden, and combines practical references with stories, images, and historical information. Its content is organized into sections for explorers, articles, resources, and information about the site.
